Dentist Teeth Whitening Guide

Advertising is a core part of what makes the internet go around. Some blogs (like mine) try to keep ads minimally invasive.

Other blogs entire purpose is to promote a product or service, which I think is what we have with this blog about teeth whitening.

This Might Be A Game

Using a blog to provide resources for your college students is a great and easy way to get content out there fast and easy!

Not sure why this blogger quit her thing, she had five other blogs that also seem to be abandoned, but all were well done.

The Electric Commentary

Surprising that at least for the current political year this blog isn't up and hopping!

Here's a nice Republican political blog from back in 2006.

Survivor Thoughts from Iowa

TV show blogs are always fun, because they usually start off really exciting, full of emotion as the blogger lets out all their most and least favorite things about the show.
Then eventually the excitement fades, they run out of things to say and inevitably the blog posting falls away.

Astrona - Space & Astronomical Art Journal

When I'm looking for an orphaned blog, I have to say that for every orphaned one I find, there are 10 to 100 that are alive and running.

Searching in the sci-fi genre there are piles and piles of geeks still going strong with blogs.

Some of the orphaned blogs you find out there are really put together and it's clear someone spent a lot of time on them, but then let them go unused for over 2 years.

History of Graphic Design~Jackie Sanch

From Endless Summers to New York City.

Some bloggers take years before they start to fade away, while others simply disappear abruptly after a few months.
This blog was a nice look at some different graphic designs.
The author posted about once a week for four months, then stopped and hasn't returned in 5 years.
Really makes you wonder, did something happen to the person, did they simply decide to stop posting or did they just forget?

Your Baby Is Lame

Funny Stuff.
There are tons of funny ideas out there, and plenty of funny people that have good ideas about funny blogs, but it's a hard thing to keep up on it for years and years.

Aly Girl: A World of Words and Pictures

The best blogs start with good intentions.

In fact, part of the reason it stinks that blogs get orphaned, abandoned or lost
is that very often you'll find a blog that's EXACTLY what you're looking for,
only to discover that it is a dead blog and the author has completely left it behind.

This blog unfortunately has 5 other blogs which also seem to be orphaned. :(

Looks like it's mostly a blog about someone's personal life, which I think are very common for people to start and then when they get busy with other life things or switch to facebook / twitter they leave it behind.

Maybe she'll notice we linked to her and it'll inspire her to start blogging again. :)

CRAP DOGS

Sometimes blogs go away because people just REALLY REALLY don't like them.

This blog that dislikes certain types of dogs got so many negative comments that they finally just gave it up.

Creepy, Abandoned Chi Chis

Laughing out loud right now after finding this blog.
Apparently there are so many of the old abandoned chi chis restaurant buildings out there, that it merits it's own blog!

Black Plate Special

Just a tip for all the bloggers out there...

You really don't ever need to start your blog posts with something like "Sorry I haven't posted in a while"

Quite often when you find an old orphaned blog, you'll see that the last 5 posts all start with "Sorry I haven't posted in a while" and then a 3 month span in between each post.

Just make your post!

If you haven't heard of the term "ana" it's a nickname for "anorexia".

So this blog was all recipes in support of the anorexic super skinny waif lifestyle.

The author also had another blog, which was orphaned in 2011.

About Us

Lost in spaaaaaaace!

At one time blogging was the hot new craze on the Internet.

It brought us the term "blogiverse" and thousands of young teenage girls flocked to create their own world... And then short thereafter abandoned those blogs forever.

Now there are so many blogs left behind, that it's probably more common to find a dead blog than an active one!

So the purpose of this blog is to go have some fun finding old abandoned blogs and highlighting them here, with an interesting summary of the blog's footprint on the web.

So keep up your blogging, or you might be the next one we link to! ;)
